Strelitzia (Bird of Paradise)

Blooms In My Garden

A Close-up Gazania.

Paperwhites in bloom and Basilicum (in Arabic: Mashmoom) or Thai Basil on the left.

Turnera Ulmifolia. I like this flowering plant. I remember I bought this when I started my gardening obsession! These flowers opens only for 1 day then they close and drop.

this is the most beautiful color of Hibiscus in my opinion... Hibiscus is definately one of my favorite plants!

Canna. This is a night shot with flash. Canna is very popular in Qatar. They are grown on the street pavements as they naturalize in our climate. Although in summer the leaves are burnt but as winter arrives; Canna really puts out a show!

Plumeria. The smell of that flower was so tangy!

White Amaryllis..

The only successful Dahlia I have grown this season. The other tubers never bloomed for some reason?!!

Who doesn't like sunflowers!

Yellow Bougainvillea.. my favorite plant.

Trailing Purple Lantana.

Thai Basil/ Basilicum .

Zinnia with a bee!!

Red Double Petunia.

Pansy.

Pink Bougainvillea.

Orange/Pink Bougainvillea.

Hybrid Bouaginvillea.

Hibiscus Border

I have been thinking about changing the side border of my garden to plants that last and live well outdoors throughout the whole year. I had in mind Lavender, lantana, ground bougainvillea, and hibiscus. I decided to plant Chinese Hibiscus & Yellow Lantana. I like the look of the topiary look of this hibiscus.

Lavender

One of my favorite plants ever!! I have lavender all over my garden in seperate places. This section under the patio I decided to plant lavender in a group. The varieties are Lavender Angustifolia (English Lavender) & Lavender Dentata (French Lavender). So far the ones in the ground are doing great. It did spread out very fast. The 2 Topiary ones I have here already grew the flowers spikes!!

Parrot

Now I know who's been eating my sunflowers!! Yesterday I also saw another parrot in my backyard. This morning I saw this one and I had to take pictures!
